active drama is a unique drama resource providing many services to
audiences and communities across the north west of england
the company's groups include a professional team
of actors, two youth theatres, 3 youth groups and music groups. all
of these groups with over 100 weekly participants. we also work in
partnership with many agencies and provide services creating
workshops and plays for clients.
our unique techniques also allow us to provide development work for
different groups.
the active drama company was founded in 1997 as a
community resource team providing quality drama projects across the
wirral. the company is
and has always been committed to bringing high quality drama to
local communities.
the company has successfully created sustainable partnerships with
educational and social agencies.
active drama team has created a sound foundation locally and build a
fantastic reputation regionally and further afield.
the company also creates professional theatre and in the past has
produced brand new pieces of theatre bringing regional stars to
wirral to perform.
"down our street" ran for three weeks in 2003 and
then again 2004 attracting thousands to see the "birkenhead play".
"our snow white" toured community centres around
the wirral packing sports halls and community centres and taking panto
to the people.
"bully" received rave reviews nationally as a full
length version of the company's touring show.
the company has been lead since formation in 1997
by birkenhead writer and director
brian mccann.
